Description
The MoteinoMEGA-USB is a USB-enabled version of the MoteinoMEGA, designed specifically for use with RFM69 transceivers and RFM95/RFM96 LoRa transceivers. It features a built-in FTDI USB-to-TTL serial chip, allowing easy connection via a standard micro-USB cable for both power and programming.
LoRaWAN Compatibility
This model supports LoRaWAN functionality through the LMIC option. Detailed instructions and sample code for accessing the EUI64 chip can be found in our forum. The EUI64 chip and necessary 4.7k resistors are supplied separately.
Main Gateway for Moteino Networks
The MoteinoMEGA-USB acts as a primary gateway for a network of Moteino nodes, removing the need for an additional FTDI adapter. Power can be supplied through USB, and the VIN pins can deliver 5V to other devices. While you can also power the device through VIN from a battery pack, this may result in slightly higher current consumption compared to the standard MoteinoMEGA.
Compatibility and Specifications
This device supports the following pin-compatible radios:
- RFM69CW (13dBm)
- RFM69HCW (20dBm)
- RFM95/RFM96 LoRa (20dBm)
Each MoteinoMEGA-USB is fully assembled and tested. During testing, a sample sketch is loaded to verify the operation of the transceiver and FLASH chip (if applicable). Note that side headers and transceivers are not included but can be added from the available options. A monopole wire antenna is provided separately when a transceiver is included.
With its microUSB connector and robust capabilities, the MoteinoMEGA-USB is well-suited for a variety of wireless projects.
