Q: How loud is the printer during normal operation?
A: The A2L delivers exceptionally quiet operation. In whisper mode, the noise level stays below 49 dB (comparable to whispering in a quiet library). In standard mode, the peak level is approximately 52 dB. (Data source: Bambu Lab internal testing)
Q: Why is the maximum bed temperature lower than the A1?
A: As an open-frame printer, the A2L is primarily designed for non-engineering filaments such as PLA and PETG, which require lower bed temperatures. Due to the significantly larger surface area, maintaining extreme temperatures would consume an excessive amount of power. To avoid overloading household circuits, we have capped the maximum temperature at 80°C. This approach optimally supports common filaments while enabling more reasonable energy consumption.
Q: What smart detection features does the A2L offer?
A: The A2L features a closed-loop PMSM servo motor and a physical "blob" detector (nozzle clogging detection), providing more precise extrusion monitoring and reliable protection against filament buildup. It also carries over the proven detection package from the A1 series, including filament run-out detection, nozzle clog detection (air pressure), and tangled spool detection.
Q: How many AMS units can be connected to the A2L?
A: The A2L is highly expandable, supporting up to 4 AMS units and 1 AMS Lite in series, enabling printing with up to 19 colors. (Connecting a box-format AMS occupies one buffer path, making one AMS Lite slot unavailable.)
Q: Does the AMS drying function on the A2L require an external power supply?
A: Yes. Due to the power distribution logic of the A2L, the drying functions of the AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT require connection to an external independent power source via a power cable or power adapter.
Q: Does the A2L support laser or cutting modules?
A: For safety reasons related to the open-frame design, the A2L does not support laser modules. However, the modular mounting point allows the use of a cutting module for precise cutting and pen plotting.
Q: What accessories are needed for the 2D processing features?
A: Simply purchase the "Blade Cutting Upgrade Kit", which includes the cutting module, a pen module, a dedicated cutting mat, and related accessories. (Materials for 2D processing are also available in our store.)
Q: Is the cutting function of the A2L identical to that of the H2 series?
A: The A2L does not have a BirdsEye camera and therefore cannot perform the fully automatic live spatial alignment of the H2 series (laser versions). However, users can use Bambu Handy with a smartphone camera for photo-assisted alignment. The "Print then Cut" feature is currently under development and may be released in a future OTA firmware update.
