With the R1, Bambu Lab expands its range beyond 3D printing. Jobs that used to require a dedicated laser workshop can now be done at your home or office workspace. According to the manufacturer, the enclosed machine is designed to run safely at home. The focus is on automating the time-consuming setup of a CO₂ laser as far as possible, so you get from design to first cut faster.

Main Benefit

Beam Path Aligned Automatically

On conventional CO₂ lasers, the mirrors in the beam path have to be adjusted by hand, a time-consuming task that takes experience. With the R1, you simply mount the included Laser Alignment Sensor on the toolhead. According to Bambu Lab, the machine then measures and corrects the beam path itself in about a minute.
