Bambu Lab PLA-CF

Carbon-fiber reinforced PLA filament for stiff, dimensionally stable and visually refined 3D printed parts – ideal for technical prototypes, design models, fixtures and functional components.

PLA with carbon fiber reinforcement

Bambu Lab PLA-CF combines the easy printability of PLA with the increased stiffness and more stable surface finish of a carbon-fiber reinforced material. The carbon fibers help reduce visible layer lines, create a matte technical appearance and improve dimensional stability. This makes PLA-CF very suitable for prototypes, fixtures, design parts and functional models with a premium finish.

Important: Abrasive filament – hardened nozzle recommended

Due to the carbon fiber content, PLA-CF is more abrasive than standard PLA. For reliable long-term use, a hardened steel nozzle is recommended. A 0.4 mm nozzle is suitable for many applications, while a 0.6 mm nozzle can be useful for larger parts and more consistent material flow.

Printing Recommendation

PLA-CF is significantly more abrasive than standard PLA and should preferably be printed with a wear-resistant nozzle. The carbon fibers improve stiffness and surface appearance, but can make the material more brittle. For highly loaded or safety-relevant parts, part geometry, print orientation, wall thickness and infill should be tested for the specific application.
