LIPSedge™ AT – Long-Range ToF 3D Camera with PoE+ and FPGA
The LIPSedge™ AT is a powerful Time-of-Flight (ToF) 3D camera for applications requiring a large detection distance and flexible installation options. With a range of up to 8 m, precise depth measurement, and an integrated FPGA platform, the camera is particularly suitable for industrial 3D sensing, depth mapping, and smart building technology.
Thanks to the Power-over-Ethernet interface (PoE+ 802.3at), data transmission and power supply are realized through a single Ethernet cable. This allows the LIPSedge AT to be used in hard-to-reach installation locations. The Ethernet connection enables transmission over distances of up to 100 m.
Long-Range ToF with up to 8 m Range
The LIPSedge AT utilizes Continuous-Wave Time-of-Flight to determine distances based on the phase shift of emitted and reflected light. The maximum operational range of 8 m enables 3D capture even at greater distances.
The depth camera operates with a minimum working distance of 1.5 m and achieves a typical depth accuracy of up to 1% of the distance. With a field of view of 74.2° × 58.1° × 88°, the camera is suitable for capturing larger areas.
Integrated Cyclone V FPGA for Edge Computing
A notable feature of the LIPSedge AT is the integrated Cyclone V FPGA. The open edge computing platform allows developers to execute their own algorithms directly on the camera and to move the processing of 3D data closer to the source.
The pre-installed SDK provides a quick start and offers functions for processing and sharing the captured data. Therefore, the LIPSedge AT is also suitable for applications where additional algorithms or custom processing steps need to be implemented directly on the device.
PoE+ for Flexible Installation
Thanks to Power over Ethernet according to IEEE 802.3at, the camera requires only an Ethernet connection for data and power supply. This reduces cabling effort and facilitates installation on ceilings, walls, or other hard-to-reach positions.

3D Depth Data and RGB Image
In addition to the ToF depth data, the LIPSedge AT features an RGB camera. The RGB resolution is up to 1600 × 1200 at 15 fps or 640 × 480 at 30 fps. This allows for the combination of 3D depth information with color information.
The depth data is captured with a resolution of up to QVGA at 30 fps. RGB and depth data can be utilized for 3D mapping, object detection, and various machine vision applications.
Developer-Friendly Platform
The LIPSedge AT supports LIPSedge SDK and OpenNI, enabling integration into custom software solutions. Depending on the operating mode, the camera can operate standalone under Linux or as a host-client system under Linux and Windows.
The open software platform makes the camera particularly interesting for developers, system integrators, and research projects looking to implement their own 3D vision and edge computing solutions.
