Designed from the Ground Up as a Tool Changer

Conventional multi-colour printers retract, reload and purge filament at every change. The H3C takes a different approach: it is the first printer Bambu Lab has designed entirely around a tool changer. Each material has its own tool, stays loaded and is ready to print instantly. This saves time and material, especially for prints with many colour or material changes.

Swaptek: Nine Tools, Hardly Any Waiting

At its heart is the Swaptek system with nine PrintTools, each with its own filament path and heater. The next tool is already preheating while the current one is still printing. According to Bambu Lab, the mechanical tool change takes 3.4 seconds and the full material switch about 6 seconds, with minimal purge.

Store and Dry Filament Protected

All spools sit in the integrated AMS 3H, an enclosed filament system that automatically feeds material to the right tool. Two dedicated drying slots reach up to 85 °C and can dry during printing. According to the manufacturer, that is enough for moisture-sensitive materials such as PA, PC and carbon-fibre-filled filaments.
