The Prusa XL+ is a large-format multi-material 3D printer with an active toolchanger, 360 × 360 × 360 mm build volume and, depending on the selected version, one, two or up to five independent toolheads. It combines direct-drive Nextruders, fully automatic tool offset calibration, loadcell first-layer calibration, CoreXY with Input Shaper, a segmented heatbed with 16 independently controlled heating elements and an open 1.75 mm filament system. Large format, multi-material and true toolheads in one system

The Prusa XL+ is the refined generation of the proven Prusa XL platform and is designed for users who need large parts, complex prototypes or true multi-material prints. Depending on the selected version, the printer is available with one, two or up to five toolheads. Each toolhead has its own extruder, hotend and nozzle. This allows different colors, materials, support materials or nozzle sizes to be combined in a single print job with significantly less waste than conventional filament-swapping systems.

The XL+ enables true multi-material printing without a shared nozzle and without typical cross-contamination. Rigid and flexible materials, soluble supports, engineering filaments and different nozzle strategies can be combined depending on the toolhead configuration. This makes the XL+ ideal for prototyping, design studies, jigs and fixtures, functional parts, architectural models, cosplay, research and small-batch manufacturing.

True toolheads instead of filament swapping

On the Prusa XL+, every material stays in its own toolhead. Parked toolheads can remain preheated and ready, and only activate when needed. This enables clean material changes, very low purge waste and much more flexibility than systems that push multiple filaments through a single nozzle.

Refined platform for better quality and easier operation

The XL+ brings key improvements over the original XL: fully automatic toolhead alignment with an electronic sensor, new 1.5 mm GT belts to reduce fine repeating artifacts, revised cooling for toolheads and electronics, a new nozzle wiper and optimized print speed. This makes the XL+ easier to set up, more reliable during long runs and better suited for high-quality large-format prints.

For demanding materials, the Enclosure for Prusa XL+ is recommended for a more stable print environment. Matching nozzles, special print sheets and the Prusa USS Drybox extend the XL+ for engineering filaments, dry filament storage, different nozzle strategies and repeatable production workflows.
