Sealed filament drybox for clean 3D prints, dry filament storage and direct printing from the box – ideal for moisture-sensitive materials such as PETG, TPU, PVA, PC, BVOH, PA and engineering filaments.

Store filament dry and print directly from the box

The Prusa USS Drybox was designed specifically for 3D printing to protect filament from moisture during storage and printing. The spool is placed inside once, remains in the box and can be guided directly to the printer through the PTFE path. This keeps sensitive materials dry for longer, improves print consistency and makes filament organization much easier.

Important: Protects from moisture, but does not actively dry filament

The USS Drybox keeps the humidity inside low and slows down moisture absorption in the filament. However, filament that is already wet should first be dried in a suitable filament dryer or drying oven. The box is therefore ideal for storage, organization and printing from a dry environment – but it is not an active dryer.

Wet filament can create steam bubbles during printing. This can lead to stringing, oozing, inconsistent extrusion and rough surfaces. The Prusa USS Drybox helps keep filament dry during printing and storage – especially important for PETG, TPU, PVA, PC, BVOH and other moisture-sensitive materials.

The Prusa USS Drybox features a quick-access filament port, PTFE tube routing, side covers for manual spool rotation and an integrated sensor for monitoring temperature and relative humidity. Thanks to its flat sides, multiple boxes can be stacked neatly and organized by material or color.

Recommended maximum internal humidity

Depending on the filament type, the relative humidity inside the drybox should be kept as low as possible. Engineering and water-soluble materials benefit especially from dry storage and dry printing.

Usage note

The Prusa USS Drybox is intended for dry storage and printing from a controlled environment. It does not replace an active filament dryer. Regularly check the seals, close side covers and the filament outlet after use, and regenerate or replace the silica gel when the humidity inside rises.
