The SUNLU AMS Heater is a heating and drying upgrade for the first-generation Bambu Lab AMS. It enables active filament drying while printing and helps keep moisture-sensitive materials such as TPU, PA, PC, PETG, PVA or engineering filaments dry. Upgrade your AMS and keep filament dry during printing

The SUNLU AMS Heater replaces or upgrades the top cover of the first-generation Bambu Lab AMS with an active heating and drying function. This allows filament to be prepared before printing and kept dry during the print process. It is especially useful for hygroscopic materials such as TPU, PA, PC, PETG, PVA or engineering filaments, helping reduce typical moisture-related issues such as stringing, bubbling, unstable extrusion and poor surface quality.

Drying and printing at the same time

Classic workflows often require filament to be dried separately before printing and then processed quickly. With the SUNLU AMS Heater, filament can continue to dry or stay dry inside the AMS while the print job is running. This is especially useful for long prints, multi-color AMS projects and materials that quickly reabsorb moisture.

Turn your AMS into a heated filament chamber

The SUNLU AMS Heater is designed as a top-cover upgrade for the first-generation Bambu Lab AMS. After the upgrade, the AMS functionality for automatic material switching and multi-color printing remains, while active heating and drying are added. The flat top still supports a space-saving setup, for example with stacked printers or multiple AMS units.

INTELLIGENT HUMIDITY MONITORING

rH mode against moisture reabsorption

In rH mode, the AMS Heater monitors humidity and can automatically resume heating when the selected humidity threshold is exceeded. By default, this mode uses 55 °C and a 6-hour working time. After the countdown ends, humidity monitoring can remain active: if the threshold is exceeded, heating starts again; when humidity drops to around 20%, the heater stops again.

Usage note

Please check compatibility with your AMS model before use. This product is intended for the first-generation Bambu Lab AMS. At higher temperatures, make sure the filament and spool can tolerate the selected temperature to avoid deformation.
