PA12-CF for demanding engineering parts

SUNLU PA12-CF combines the engineering properties of Nylon 12 with carbon fiber reinforcement. The material is designed for parts where high strength, high stiffness, dimensional accuracy, reduced moisture absorption and high heat deflection resistance are important. It is suitable for structural parts, functional components, industrial tools, jigs, brackets, housings, drone components, automotive applications, aerospace-related prototypes and technical small batches.

Engineering nylon with carbon fiber reinforcement

Compared to many standard filaments, PA12-CF offers much higher mechanical and thermal reserves. The carbon fibers improve stiffness, dimensional accuracy and the technical surface finish, while PA12 provides lower moisture absorption than PA6 and good dimensional stability. This makes SUNLU PA12-CF especially useful for precise, load-bearing and durable engineering parts.

SUNLU PA12-CF is intended for parts where PLA, PETG, ABS or ASA are no longer sufficient. The material offers high heat deflection resistance, strong mechanical values and a very technical, matte carbon surface. It is suitable for industrial prototypes, load-bearing brackets, jigs, mechanical parts, tools and components with tight tolerance requirements.

IMPORTANT FOR PA12-CF

Print dry and use a hardened nozzle

PA12-CF should be kept consistently dry during printing. Even though PA12 absorbs less moisture than PA6, nylon materials remain moisture-sensitive. For best results, store the filament in a dry box or active filament dryer. After longer open-air exposure, dry the material before printing. Due to the carbon fibers, PA12-CF is abrasive: a hardened or abrasion-resistant nozzle is required; a 0.6 mm nozzle is more robust than 0.4 mm for many setups.

Note on PA12-CF

PA12-CF is an abrasive engineering filament and should not be printed long-term with standard brass nozzles. The material must be stored dry and preferably printed dry. When sanding, sawing or post-processing carbon-fiber filled parts, avoid dust and use suitable protective equipment. Safety-critical applications require independent part validation.
