SUNLU PLA-CF is a carbon-fiber reinforced PLA filament with a matte carbon look for stiffer, dimensionally stable and premium-looking 3D printed parts. With 15% carbon fiber fill, the material offers higher stiffness, good dimensional stability and a technical surface that visually reduces layer lines. It is suitable for functional parts, jigs, brackets, housings, prototypes, technical samples and small batches. Due to the abrasive carbon fibers, a hardened or abrasion-resistant nozzle is recommended.

PLA reinforced with carbon fiber

SUNLU PLA-CF combines the easy printability of PLA with carbon fiber reinforcement for higher stiffness, improved dimensional stability and a matte technical surface. The material is especially suitable for functional parts, prototypes, technical samples, jigs, brackets, housings and models where a premium carbon look and dimensionally stable parts are desired.

Stiff, lightweight and technically refined

Thanks to the carbon fiber content, SUNLU PLA-CF looks much more technical than standard PLA. The matte finish visually hides layer lines, while the fiber reinforcement improves stiffness and dimensional stability. This makes PLA-CF a strong choice for parts that should look premium while staying precise and dimensionally stable.

SUNLU PLA-CF is ideal when standard PLA prints are too glossy, too flexible or not technical enough in appearance. The carbon fiber fill improves stiffness and creates a matte, slightly textured surface with a professional carbon-inspired look. This makes the material especially interesting for technical samples, jigs, brackets, housings and premium prototypes.

IMPORTANT FOR CF FILAMENTS

Use a hardened nozzle

Carbon-fiber filled filaments are more abrasive than pure PLA. For reliable long-term use, a hardened or abrasion-resistant nozzle should be used. A 0.4 mm nozzle may work depending on the printer, but a 0.6 mm nozzle is often the more robust choice to reduce wear and clogging risk. Filament paths, extruder gears and AMS/material systems should also be checked for suitability with abrasive filaments.

Typical Applications

SUNLU PLA-CF is suitable for parts where technical appearance, stiffness and dimensional stability are more important than maximum temperature or impact resistance. For highly loaded, heat-loaded or humid environments, PA-CF, PETG-CF, PC-CF or other engineering materials should be considered.

SUNLU PLA-CF is especially useful when PLA-style easy processing should be combined with higher stiffness, a matte carbon surface and good dimensional accuracy. The material is suitable for prototyping, functional samples, workshop parts and premium technical models.

Note on PLA-CF

PLA-CF is abrasive and should be printed with a hardened or abrasion-resistant nozzle. The material is stiffer than standard PLA, but like PLA it has limited temperature resistance. For parts used in cars, direct sunlight, near heat sources or under high dynamic load, an engineering filament should be considered.
