DH Robotics PGIA-140-80 – Electric Parallel Gripper with Brake
The DH Robotics PGIA-140-80 is an industrial electric parallel gripper for automated handling, assembly, and material transport applications. With an adjustable gripping force of 40 to 140 N per jaw, a total stroke of 80 mm, and a recommended workpiece weight of up to 3 kg, the gripper is suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
High Gripping Force and Large Stroke
The PGIA-140-80 offers an adjustable gripping force of 40 to 140 N per jaw and a total stroke of 80 mm. This allows for different workpiece sizes to be covered with a single gripper.
The recommended workpiece weight is up to 3 kg. The actual suitability depends, among other factors, on workpiece geometry, friction, finger design, acceleration, and external load.
Rack and Pinion Drive with Cross Roller Guide
For mechanical movement, the PGIA-140-80 uses a rack and pinion drive with cross roller guide. The design allows for precise and repeatable movement of the gripper jaws.
The published positional repeatability of ±0.02 mm makes the gripper interesting for precise pick-and-place and assembly applications.
Integrated Control
The PGIA-140-80 features an integrated control and can be controlled as standard via Modbus RTU over RS485 or Digital I/O. This allows the gripper to be integrated directly into automation and robotics systems.
The Digital I/O interface provides 2 inputs and 2 outputs. Depending on the chosen hardware, interfaces such as TCP/IP, USB 2.0, CAN 2.0A, PROFINET, or EtherCAT are also available.
PGIA-140-80 with Brake
The PGIA-140-80 variant is equipped with a brake. The brake can be particularly relevant for applications involving vertical workpiece handling or longer standstill times, where the gripper position should be maintained even during a drive standstill.
Note: The integrated brake does not constitute an independent machine safety function. The suitability for a specific safety function must always be checked based on the complete robot and system design as well as the corresponding risk assessment.
For Industrial Robotics and Cobots
The PGIA-140-80 is suitable for integration into industrial robotic systems, cobots, and automated production systems. Typical applications include loading and unloading of production machines, CNC applications, battery handling, and general material handling.
Robust Design with IP54
With a protection class of IP54, the gripper is designed for industrial environments. The power supply is 24 V DC ±10 %. The maximum power consumption is 40 W, while the specified nominal and peak current are 0.7 A and 1.6 A, respectively.
