Fairino 6-Axis Force/Torque Sensor – Precise Force Measurement for Robot Applications
The Fairino 6-axis force/torque sensor enables precise measurement of forces and torques across all six axes. It simultaneously measures the three force components Fx, Fy and Fz as well as the three torque components Mx, My and Mz.
The offered 200 N version provides a measurement range of 200 N for each force axis and 5 Nm for each torque axis. This makes the sensor particularly suitable for precise robotic applications where contact forces, resistance or process forces need to be detected.
6-Axis Force and Torque Measurement
By measuring forces and torques across six axes simultaneously, the sensor provides comprehensive information about the interaction between the robot, tool and workpiece. This enables applications such as force-controlled movements, sensitive assembly processes and adaptive automation.
The sensor uses strain gauge technology for force and torque measurement. Its decoupled sensor design reduces mutual interference between the individual measurement axes and supports reliable force measurement.
High Measurement Accuracy and Fast Response
The force/torque sensor achieves a non-linearity of ≤ 0.5 % FS and a repeatability of ≤ 0.1 % FS. Its fast response makes it suitable for detecting dynamic forces and for demanding robotic applications.
The decoupled sensor design achieves a long-term cross-talk error of ≤ 3 % FS after decoupling, supporting reliable force measurement during continuous operation.
Robust Design for Industrial Applications
With an IP63 protection rating, the sensor is designed for use in industrial environments. The specified operating temperature range is -20 °C to +80 °C.
The 200 N version features an aluminium alloy housing. Its compact design allows space-saving integration between the robot and tool.
Ideal for Force-Controlled Robotics
Combined with a Fairino robot, the 6-axis force/torque sensor enables applications where position control alone is not sufficient. The robot can detect forces and torques occurring during a process, allowing processes to be monitored or executed based on force feedback.
Typical applications include:
- Precision assembly and insertion
- Force-controlled assembly processes
- Component alignment and positioning
- Grinding and polishing
- Quality and process inspection
- Contact and force monitoring
- Adaptive robotics
- Research and development
- Human-robot collaboration
