Expand the Original Prusa XL flexibly

The Prusa XL Upgrade Kit expands an existing Original Prusa XL with additional toolheads. Depending on the current configuration and the selected version, the printer is upgraded from one toolhead to two, from one toolhead to five or from two toolheads to five. This allows several filaments to be prepared and combined automatically within one print job.

True multi-tool expansion instead of classic filament switching

The Original Prusa XL uses separate toolheads. This means different materials do not need to be purged through the same nozzle over and over again. It reduces material mixing, purging effort and filament waste – especially for engineering materials, support strategies and multi-color functional parts.

Choose the version that matches your current Original Prusa XL configuration. The 1→2 kit expands a single-tool XL to two toolheads. The 1→5 kit upgrades a single-tool XL directly to five toolheads. The 2→5 kit expands a dual-head XL to the full five-head configuration.

Several filaments prepared and combined automatically

With multiple toolheads, different filaments can be prepared in the printer. Colors, engineering materials, flexible materials and support materials can be combined in a single print job. This is especially useful for parts made from expensive engineering filaments where support areas should be printed from a cheaper or easier-to-remove material.
