The SUNLU FilaDryer E2 is a high-temperature filament dryer for engineering and moisture-sensitive 3D printing filaments. High-temperature drying for engineering filaments

The SUNLU FilaDryer E2 is designed for users who need to reliably prepare moisture-sensitive and engineering-grade filaments. With a working temperature range of 35 to 110 °C, it is suitable not only for standard materials such as PLA, PETG or TPU, but also for demanding filaments such as PA, PC, carbon-fiber compounds and other engineering materials. The E2 can also be used as an annealing box for printed parts.

Drying, storage and annealing in one device

Moisture in filament can cause stringing, bubbling, unstable extrusion, brittle parts and poor surface quality. The FilaDryer E2 helps reduce these issues with active warm-air drying and a well insulated drying chamber. For printed engineering parts, an annealing process can also be used to reduce internal stress and improve selected material properties.

Many engineering filaments require significantly higher drying temperatures than classic PLA or PETG materials. The SUNLU FilaDryer E2 reaches up to 110 °C, making it especially useful for workflows with nylon, polycarbonate, PVA, TPU, carbon-fiber compounds and other hygroscopic materials. The correct temperature always depends on the specific filament, spool and material manufacturer recommendations.

ANNEALING FUNCTION

Heat treatment for printed parts

In addition to filament drying, the E2 can be used for annealing suitable 3D printed parts. During annealing, parts are held at an elevated temperature for a defined time and then cooled down in a controlled way. This process can reduce internal stresses and improve the mechanical performance of selected engineering materials. Before annealing, the material datasheet, part geometry and possible shrinkage should be considered.

At high temperatures, the temperature resistance of the spool must be considered. Not every plastic or cardboard spool is suitable for 80–110 °C. Before drying or annealing, check the filament and spool manufacturer recommendations to avoid deformation.
