SUNLU ASA is a UV- and weather-resistant ASA filament for durable outdoor and functional parts. It is suitable for housings, brackets, covers, garden parts, jigs, technical prototypes and components that need to withstand sunlight, rain and moderate heat exposure. ASA offers higher heat resistance than PLA, good toughness and better outdoor suitability than ABS. For best results, an enclosed build chamber is recommended to reduce warping and cracking.

ASA for robust outdoor printed parts

SUNLU ASA is an engineering filament for applications where weather resistance, UV stability, heat resistance and everyday mechanical usability matter. Compared to ABS, ASA is especially interesting for outdoor use because it is designed to better withstand sunlight, rain and long-term weather exposure. Typical applications include housings, brackets, covers, garden parts, technical prototypes, jigs and durable functional parts.

Weather-resistant, tough and heat-resistant

ASA is especially useful when printed parts need to remain reliable outdoors and not only look good. The material is more UV-, rain- and heat-resistant than many standard filaments and offers a good combination of strength, toughness and dimensional stability. For best results, ASA should be printed in an enclosed build chamber with stable temperature.

Enclosed build chamber for stable results

ASA is sensitive to drafts and rapid temperature changes. An enclosed printer or enclosure helps reduce warping, cracking and bed adhesion issues. Bed temperature, build plate, adhesive, part orientation and cooling should be tuned carefully. For large, flat or sharp-edged parts, brim, reliable bed adhesion and stable chamber temperature are especially important.

Note on ASA

ASA should preferably be printed in a well-controlled, enclosed build chamber. Odors and fumes may occur during printing, so suitable ventilation or filtration is recommended. For large parts, sharp corners or flat parts, brim, adhesive, chamber temperature and part orientation should be tuned carefully.
