The SUNLU Filament Connector FC01 is a compact fusion splicer for joining 1.75 mm filament. Join filament leftovers instead of throwing them away

The SUNLU Filament Connector FC01 fuses two ends of 1.75 mm filament together. This allows remaining filament pieces to be reused, partially empty spools to be combined or planned color changes to be prepared. It is especially useful for makers, print farms and workshops where many small filament leftovers are created and material should be used efficiently.

Clean filament joining for creative and efficient workflows

With the FC01, filament ends are heated, brought together and aligned inside a PTFE tube. This helps create more consistent joints than improvised methods. It is especially useful when joining the same material in different colors, using short filament leftovers and preparing custom color transitions.

The Filament Connector is especially useful when many short filament pieces remain at the end of spools. Instead of discarding them, compatible filaments can be joined and used for test prints, prototypes, infill material or creative color transitions. For reliable results, preferably join the same material type and dry damp filament before splicing.

SIMPLE OPERATION

Select material, heat, join and let it cool

The appropriate material mode is selected using the control buttons. The device heats the joining area, the prepared filament ends are brought together inside a PTFE tube and cooled after a short splicing time. A viewing window and display help monitor the process.

Usage note

For a clean joint, filament ends should be cut straight, dry and free from dust. The joint should be checked before feeding it into the printer so that no thick spot can get stuck in the extruder, PTFE tube, AMS or filament sensor.
